when given full throttle, and attempt to trim up slightly, it stimbles for a second and then comes back. Only happens at 3/4 to full throttle?? I checked connections to the pump all are clean and good.

88....do you have a voltmeter on the dash? It really sounds like the voltage is being pulled down too low for the coil to work properly. Does the pump work fine at idle or even with the motor off? Also check your battery connections for corrosion and make sure they are tight.

Cruise on down to your local OMC Cobra dealer. Tell/ask him to show you the service bulletin concerning the problem you have. It instructs you to cut off approx. 22" off of the ignition/coil resistor wire. This will raise the available voltage to the coil and solve your problem. It will also talk about new style brkr points, condensor and a high output ignition coil. There are newer spark plugs axailable also. But the resistor wire is where to start first.

I read of another guy with a similar problem. The problem was eventually traced to a worn trim wire rubbing on the throttle casing. Maybe thats why it only does it at 3/4 throttle?<br />Once, when my battery was real low, trimming would almost kill the engine at medium rpm's, so I guess the ignition system needs full voltage.
