I cracked the block in my 2000 Crownline. I am trying to definitively ID it so I can order a replacement from Rapido. The serial number on the little tag over the starter is 652379. Is that enough to narrow it down?

*Edit There *may* be an "L" ( L 652379) at the beginning, but as clean as it is it is hard to be sure.

You need the Mercruiser serial number of the engine for positive ID.

This is the serial number on the mercruiser serial number tag affixed to the block on the bell housing flange over the starter motor. Is that not it?

It was in the first post:

Ok, it's a 98 vintage used in 99 and 2000 by Merc. You want the one marked Mercruiser 4.3L Vortec ENGINE 1997 to 2007 chevy on the Rapido site.

Just a question, how did your block crack? I think of this as a problem only associated with areas where the cooling water in the block can freeze, like here in Canada.
