Hello everyone,
I'm new to the post and have to say I have found a ton of very helpful information. I thought I would tell ya'll about my latest project. I bought this 16" starcraft Super Sport from a guy I work with. He bought it it 2000 with the intention of restoring it but ended up letting it sit next to his garage uncovered until last month when I bought it. The hull and engine are in great shape, wish the same were true for the rest. When I went to his house to look the boat over there was a bunch small saplings growing out of the floor and about 3 feet of leaves. I gave one of the seats a shake and it fell over.
This is when I discovered the entire floor was rotton. This is also when I talked the guy down from $900.00 to $300.00 after convincing him it was going to take a lot of work and money to fix her up. That was not entirely true as I have only spent around $200.00 on material so far. I'm not counting the labor hours as I am really enjoy seeing how the boat is going from something out of a junkyard into something I will use for years to come. I have the boat mostly restored and plan to use it for fishing ( lots of room, will only have two seats). I will try to get some pictures on here as soon as I can.
