My old (l988) 3.0 with a Cobra outdrive has bit the dust. I picked up a cherry 1992 Mercruiser 3.0 set up for an Alpha drive. <br /><br />As I see it most of the motor is a item for item swap. Can I use the mercrusier digital ignition?<br /><br />I have been also told that there is a difference in the flywheel. Can somebody tell me what the difference is between the two motors and how to make this motor work in my boat. The newer motor has a different size flywheel??. Can I use my old flywheel??<br /><br />I getting ready to pull the old motor out of the boat. Any help appreciated.
