3.0 mercruiser

i have 05 Bayliner with a 3.0 mercruiser (blown motor) i was wondering if i could put a larger mercruiser on the same lower unit or would i need to go back with orginal

Its the re-fiberglassing in the new mounts that would be hard. But yes you would need a different gear ratio on the out drive. Keep it the same and be on the water sooner......

Not really with that motor.That's not one people really hop up.More power usually means bigger motor and a drive change.Look around you might find a good setup in an older boat and you can swap it out.
Sometime selling your old parts can pay for a used boat.J
