I'm looking at an r42ltsm plug , is it wrong for the 3.0 lx merc engine , and why ?

Parts book lists (depending on engine year)

BPR6EFS or equivalent - 1996 and up

BR6FS (1990-95) or equivalent

you should be able to cross ref to other manufacturers, cant tell up about the LTSM you ask about

Ayuh,...... Unless they've changed the part numbers,.....
MR43LTS, is the Marine(alloy body) Resistor, 43, long plug for the Vortec GM heads,....
The R42LTS is an automotive plug with a plain ole steel body,.... likes to rust,....

The older heads use the MR43T plugs,.... slightly shorter reach,...
