I'm planing a wooden work boat.
Something like a deadrise, but more a flat bottom. 19-20 plus feet. It will have a keel.

To be used for crabbing/fishing in Chesapeke bay.

I own an '06 29' amberjack with twin 350 mpi. Which I will keep .

I'm looking into various motors including a tdi and others.

For simplicity, I think the 3.0 either volvo or mercruiser is a good place to start.

It's not the most popular application so I'm looking for the details to do this.

Bell Housing /gear box

I think I may need a wedged shape caburator adapter.

I will likely use a crank mounted sea water pump/volvo setup.

Looking into a full closed cooling system or keel cooler. It seems that even the aftermarket only sells kits for closed engine , not manifold.

Any info and comments welcome!
Thanks

Welcome
For the almost full closed cooling on a 3.0 you would need either MPI with CAT's. The CAT motors are the first time the raw water intake/exhaust manifolds are separate

A V6 is probably to much weight, but maybe a Rotax
