Do the small 2hp range 4 stroke outboards vibrate considerably due to the fact that they are single cylinder or do they good counter balancing systems in them? Are any of them quieter than others?

We have a two Hp four stroke single cylinder made by Honda 2010 BF2 model.Honda has done it's homework on counter balancing this motor,we actually had it push a 14 footer Lund loaded and it did well, in fact very well.Other than maybe a tad noisy because Honda choose to make this an air cooled motor it will not disapoint you,the advantage to an air cooled vs water cooled it is that you will not pick up sand, weeds or beavers 9i live in Canada:D).All in all we are very happy with our 2Hp,4 stroke Honda BF2 (our other motor is a 3 cylinder 2011 Honda BF25 ,25 Hp water cooled).

They all vibrate, no one does a great job of balancing(it's all relative) and some are slightly quieter than others...The Honda is the loudest followed by the Suzuki.

All the single cylinders vibrate at low rpm. I like the honda but it doesn't have a manual clutch. From my experience the honda isn't quieter then the tohatsu but has a lower throatier sound.

Heres a video of a Mercury (built by Tohatsu) 3.3hp 2 stroke and a honda 2hp 4 stroke to give an idea of the sound of a honda. (The video was for some Siren sailboat owners who felt you needed a 5hp for a Siren. I felt 2hp is enough.)
