270 Volvo outdrive
Took the lower unit off and need to replace some of the lub lost. What kind goes in it

It calls for 30w oil same as used in the engine on my AQ125A.

Under the back cover is a hex head bolt/screw/nut.5/16 I believe. Remove the top dipstick and fill from the hexhead( BSN).If your topping it off and it aint been done in a while change it completely.Straight 30wt is what it takes. Jerry

If it's been in storage for three years can I do the same to maintain it? I don't want to hit the lake and find that it's dry. how do I check it?
