270 penta upper gear housing prob help

My gears will not shift is stuck in forword gear so i took off shifting cable and tryed to change gears by had and still would not move .I now have taken out the control mechanism. to se what is wrong and i think the engaging sleeve is stuck.
Can anyone help with this I have no clue what i need to do.

Ayuh,... I think you'll find the Manual for that drive up in the Adults Only section at the top of this forum...
