I am switching from a 12 volt system to a 24 volt system. I know how to connect the batteries to make this system work. But what I do not know is how you charge your batteries. Do I need to disconnect the jumper link between both batteries to charge or just connect the charger positive clamp to the positive post on one battery and the negative clamp to the negative side of the other battery.

Ahoy, Jobywon.

You either get a 24volt charger and charge both at once or you have to disconnect them to charge each battery seperately with your 12volt charger.

Good luck. :)

Several of the chargers are designed to charge each battery and are connected to each with two wires. Look for two or three bank battery chargers.
Plug them in till the light turns green or leave them on to maintain.

I was just gona say, that the bank chargers are the ticket for this.
If you are going to just have 2 batteries, then a 2 bank will work, but if you are going to have the 2 for trolling motor and 1 cranking battery, then get you a 3 bank.
Instructions that come with them will tell you how to hook them up.
