Hi all.

so i bought this boat and have had in the sea for the last month or so. being a bit of a statistics nerd, i keep a log of the distance, time and fuel i have put into the tank, and it seems that i am consuming 0.66 litres per minute - my average spead would be around 15 knots, at about 3,000 revs. I admit i am used to a speadboat, so maybe i am going a little too fast for optimal fuel efficiency.

How does my consumption compare to anything similar you may be running?

Don't know about the liters but the rule of thumb is 20 gallons per hour at WOT which I guess would equate to .33 gallons per minute; but you are not running at WOT. Others will probably chime in on this.

thanks for the reply, but i am not familar with the term WOT.

20 US gallons translates to some 75 litres, which implies a consumption of 1.25 litres per minute, which is double what i am burning.. is that right? sounds like quite a lot.

Cliff, rough math (4L = 1 Gal) shows .66L/minute is about 10Gal/hour, which is not bad for that boat. At full throttle (WOT), that motor can burn 20Gal/hour.

thanks all.

it will make me feel better as i pour litre after litre into the tank to know i am burning normal levels of liquid gold!
