My 1994 Evinrude 225 Ocean Pro power trim quit working. The motor runs but does not trim. I tried filling the hydraulic reservoir but it is full. Any ideas?

Is the manual relief screw loose?

When did the trim work properly last?

Check to make sure the manual relief screw is closed.

If the trim motor is running strong and it is full of fluid, you may have a stuck check valve. What position is the motor trimmed at? Is it all the way up, all the way down, midway or what?

It wont move in either direction? Can you get someone to stand on the foot while you press the down button?

Sounds electrical to me. If it worked when you put it away, and dont work now, I'd be looking a corroded contacts related to the trim system.

If the motor is running, but the unit is still not functioning, first check the manual release valve as already stated. Release the snap ring, remove the valve core, and check the o-ring and valve seal, then close it tightly. You could also have a blocked internal passage or valve which will need to be troubleshot. Another thing to check is for a clogged pump filter.

The motor is in the travel position, part way up on the lock
