2020 Nascar - Charlotte - 4 Races Over Four Days

We our second COVID-19 schedule of races coming from Charlotte. Cup, X-Men, Trucks and Cup again over 4 consecutive days, Sunday through Wednesday. There will be Cup qualifying before tomorrow's Coke 600, so we can toss an extra dart for 5 bonus points.

Weather may be a factor with rain forecast for all but Tuesday - Yuck! Gonna do Charlotte the same as Darlington and use this thread for all four races.

The Coke 600 is on FOX and the rest of the week is on FS1. The race schedule from MRN;

• Happy Harvick's Beat The Whining Twerp Challenge will finally kick off. When the schedule was rudely interrupted, the first postponed race was the Truck race in which Chase Elliott accepted Harvick's to Beat TWT. The Challenge will finally kick off with Elliott gunning to beat the Twerp in Tuesday's Truck race.
• The second race in the Challenge had Kyle Larson sign on. Not gonna happen since he's under suspension.
• Cup Safety Mods - Following Ryan Newman's Daytona crash, Nascar has added two extra braces in front and behind the driver side and improved window safety net mounting, both sets of changes will be in place for Talladega.
• TV ratings for Darlington II - Only drew 384,000 viewers on FS1 after a 4 1/2 hour rain delay.

Cup cars are going through inspection before hitting the track for qualifying. This is an impound race so cars can't be worked on after qualifying.

It's sunny and very warm right now, but still the chance of t-storms this evening.

Pole qualifying locks at 2PM and the race locks at 6:23.

There was a lack of distance between the right side of our @MenardsRacing Mustang and the wall. Socially and otherwise. We’ll likely be pulling out a backup. That looked like a pretty hard hit.

Qualifying results; Busch1 is on pole and the rest of the ten fastest are Johnson, Elliott ,Kenseth, Reddick, ADillon, Joey, Truex, Keso and Byron. Chevy in the top 6, a Ford, a Toyota, a Ford and in tenth, a Chevy - 7 Chevys in the top 10.

Get your race picks in by 6:23. Got about an hour.

Oh, Oh - Hamlin lost a couple of tungsten weights. Gonna some kind of penalty for that. Good thing it wasn't at speed during the race.

Hamlin finally gets on track with new tungsten weights - Down 9 laps and gonna be hard to make up, even in 600 miles.

Busch1 leads the first 10 laps from the pole.

Blaney tapped the rear of Bell and Bell saved a spin. It was close and stayed green.12 laps left in the heat with Bowman up front after a 2 tire stop after the rain delay.

Yellow for Bowyer and 4 laps to go in heat - A hard , long scrape on the wall and a big burst of flame.

Heat ends under yellow, which saved the heat win for Bowman cuz Truex was passing him when the lights came on.
