I have a 2007 VX cruiser that has just started over heating the water doesnt seem to be going completely through the engine. It will come out the back when I put the hose on it but it doesnt come out throught the tube on the left front side of the engine(don't know the actual term for that tube). I have sprayed air through that tube and it does seem to be coming out the back. I am hoping this is not going to be an expensive problem to fix. It was suggested to me by the Yamaha dealership that I let them take the head off to investigate but I would like to try to solve the problem without this expense and with some outside help other than the dealership. thanks

That little tube is called a "Pisser" it is for visual knowledge that water is flowing through your cooling system on your ski. Yours is not working and the ski is overheating. What you can do is follow the hoses from your pump to the engine, remove each end of one tube at a time and make sure there are no obstructions. This will allow you to check all the easy possible spots where there maybe a clog. If you have gone through all the hoses and you still have not found a clog, start next with the water intake manifold, this is where you will need to talk to your dealer and be prepared to order gaskets for reinstalling components. You should be able to talk to one of the techs at the dealership for free and get there opion before you bring in your ski for them to look at it.

I have an overheating problem with my 2005 VX Deluxe. Water does come out the "pisser". Greater Yamaha said that there is still a clog somewhere in the engine. It is going to cost me $1482 to repair. If you have had a similar situation, please email me at milt560@aol.com and let me know what you did to resolve the problem.

Thanks,

Milton

you should try backflushing the engine through the pisser to see if that clears the obstruction.

a friend of mine makes and sells a backflush kit, send me a PM if you want contact info - it would cost around $20 to get one.

i have the 2006 VX110 Deluxe that i just purchased from a private seller. getting water coming out of the "pisser" and the back when running it. after running it pretty hard, i too get the warning overheating alarm. is there sucha a thing as running these too hard and they will overheat or should they be able to take whatever you can dish out? usually only happens after about 20 min of hard running
