For the first run of the day, the engine starts easy. The TKS module closes after a few minutes and stays closed when the engine is warm (has the 12.5V with engine turned off). Accelerates smoothly. Runs at power. When I shut it off, engine will initially restart, but when I place it in gear the engine dies. After a couple of attempts it no longer kicks to restart. Any ideas?

Has a carburetor rebuild, fresh fuel and fuel filter, new coil, distributor.

It's an electrical problem and the Bat is showing 90% charge if your meter reads correctly.

I would start with cleaning all the Battery cable ends, including the ground cable attached to rear of block. Disconnect the 10 pin engine harness and clean the pins

Could be corrosion on any contact including the ignition fuse, key switch.

When motor is running does do you see 14.5V at the Bat?

When motor does not click does Bat still read 12.5V?
