Hi All
Just spent a bucket load on a nearly new 05 mariner 40, looks almost mint in every way cannot have done any more than 10 hours I guess.
Thr problem is it seems to be "bogging" down in idle, almost like a mis-fire or backfire. I am using maybe a little too much 2 stroke oil so will try to change that, there seems to be a little play in the throttle timing cables leading under the flywheel, Have also changed the plugs.
I hope its not a cylinder issue my mate reckons its just timing or fuel/air mix adjustments need playing with
A novice on the motors can anybody suggest what I should try checking to resolve, when you give it some revs it seems to clear top end but getting up there it jumps and kicks. Maybe a link or too to some kind of service manual,
I have not had much luck with replies to faults on here, but hope one of you experts could help me out.
Cheers
