My hole where it sits is round, I ordered a 18-2727 or a 60923. the flapper with 60923 molded into it is oval, I need a round one, it shows both for the same number. is it needed?
I'll go get it, I'm not at the boat, but if the same number shows both round and oval, to me that's a problem on what to order.serial number?

That was confusing me because mine had none to compare to and the same part number showed 2 different shapes. Thanks.Merc seems to have changed the design several times. The replacement looks nothing like the original on my 1995 .
Ayuh,..... That's to high,..... 650/ 700 is where it's gotta be,.....The oval flapper 60923 worked perfectly, we took the boat out yesterday and it did very good with the exception of the unplugged hole in the new manifold the old manifold didn't have that hole and it caused a vacuum leak, fixed and adjusted the idle so it's on 1000 on the ear muffs. The carbed 3.0 starts so much better too without that vac. leak too.
I'll readjust it after it's on the water, I agree, I want it as low as it can be and stable. I was just glad to find that air leak.Yep that high idle is not good for a dog shift outdrive; I set my Cobra at 600 rpm in gear in the water & it goes in, and out of gear with 2 fingers
lowest usable Idle speed in gear, for trolling, docking, driving on a trailer. When your on the water, you have to keep your head on a swivel.Lowest neutral idle speed ? Is not what you want.
Engine adjusted for a non stalling speed in gear. When you move throttle quickly from idle speed. Or quickly pull throttle from 1/2 to idle position. Cruisers on Auto Pilot will run right over you if you stall out.
