2003 Fisher Bow Rider-Aluminum

I am officially asking permission to join the tin fleet. Tin Addiction has struck and I can't shake it.

I just purchased an 18' Fisher 2003 with a 4.3L MerCruiser.

She will go through a complete restoration.

On the bright side, the engine seems fine, great trailer and all the parts are there. Even a 65# thrust Minn Kota trolling motor.

My guess is that's for a kicker,...

Yup, it's for a kicker. As noted, the platform is on the Starboard side.

She just needs a "makeover" as the admiral put it. The color has got to go!

I'm planning on stripping the bottom (no rivets to work around ), leaving it natural aluminum,. Sides, topsides-white. Replace all the carpet with marine vinyl. New seats, etc.

I want to change the rear deck somewhat. There are too many cubby holes. As it stands, I'd have to melt myself down and pour myself in to get decent access to the engine.:grumpy: I've got to change that.

Stay tuned. Going slow now, it's 105* in the garage.

Some Crestliners I/Os had a kicker well like that too. Kinda neat.

Yea, some C-liners did. Some Lunds too, I think.

She has a 4.3L 2 bbl. 2003 model. So, I'm assuming it is a 190 HP. Serial # is: 0M047305.

I'd look to use her a bit and get a feel for what works for you. Then during the hard water season have at it.

The rebuild process has been slow but continues.

The outdrive is off, the consoles, decks and floor are out. The decks and floors are all aluminum so there is no rot to deal with.

I found something interesting. This boat had obviously taken on a lot of water sometime in the past. I think I found the culprit. The front livewell fill hose was under the fuel tank and worn though!

Progress continues.

The interior is pretty much all cleaned out. The foam is dry and in good shape so it stays.

I am struggling a bit with stripping the bottom. That paint is really on there. I'm going to attack it again this weekend.

The wood appears to be OK. I've poked and prodded. No soft spots anywhere. I'll know for sure when I remove the gimbal ring.

This was an original Arizona boat so rot is typically not an issue.

That rear deck support system is just pop riveted in. When I put it back together, I'm going to bolt all of that so that rmoving the entire thing will be easy.

I look at it this way, if I make it easy to remove, I'll never have to!

Still working on it. It's now painted.

I TRIED Rust Oleum Marine paint with dismal results. I sanded that off and went with Interlux Brightside. Should have done what I knew first. Oh Well.

Now, I'm working on the task of removing old carpet from all the interior pieces. What a chore.
