I have been shopping for a new fishing boat, cuddy cabin and yesterday I found an offer of a leftover 2001 2600 Seaswirl Striper cuddy walk around outboard with a 200 hp fuel injected Yamaha motor for $34,800. Is this a deal or am I missing something???
Thanks

Jen, I have 2001 2600 with a 250hp ficht, love the boat. Paid $42,000. with outboard bracket and swim platform, also full enclosure and head with holdiing tank. I think you will be underpowered with a 200hp.

Dave

I have a 24' Striper WA with a 200 Johnson; love the boat, but I agree with Striper; you'll be underpowered. I get 34 mph max w/ 15 X 15.5 prop @ 5000 rpm. Could go to a different prop, but it probably wouldn't make that much different. The Seaswirl specs say my boat weighs 3750 lgs; by the time I add fuel, fishing gear and people, I'll bet I'm up to 4500+ lbs. The 2600 is listed @ 1000 lbs more.
See if you can trade for a couple of 150s!

I have a 2001 Strip 2600 with an Evinrude 225. It is plenty powerful as long as you are not looking for speed. Mine will go almost 40 with no seasonal slime on the bottom. It is also super fuel efficient. For the price, I would buy it. The new ones are $50,000+.

I also forgot to add that I can't believe how it will plane out, no problem with 7 adults on board! 25hp doesn't make that much difference.
