2001 or 2002 25 hp Merc ?

Buying a new 25 hp Merc longshaft. Does anybody know what has changed for 2002 ? I can pick up a brand new 2001 for about $200 less than a new 2002 so was wondering what the difference is. And don't say the difference is $200 Are there any big changes in the 2002 ?

No difference, jus' annual price increase.....they are phasing 2 cycles out in the next 3 years in this class. Get while the getting is good, these little 20-25 HP Mercs are one of the best outboards on the market in this class. Get an electric start if ya can...Mercury even makes factory trim and tilt for the 20-25 HP..... I got one 13 years old and over a thousand hours on it.....still runs great; one water pump job and one carb overhaul.
