I recently purchased a 2000 Promaster 19' bay boat in June 2013 and have recently read several statements that these boats manufactured by Sprint have severe rot issues. Anyone know of this problem?

Older boats than that have been rot free and some as old as 1 year have been found with wet wood. Depends on how it was cared for and how stored most of it's life.

We know of that problem with any boat with wood in them. They can all have rot issues, it's all about proper care. First thing to look for is interior damage from sitting out uncovered for years on end. If the interior looks good ask whys that? Was it recently redone or because they cared for the boat? Next thing is they almost always put down new decking over old to cover up soft rotten spots so there's doubled up decking plywood.
