Hi all, newbie member and first-time boat owner. Bought a 1985 Sun Runner CV 190 last July, it's a project boat. I just removed the oil pan and found a black rubber beveled type washer, seal or guide. It is 1/2" at the widest diameter and tapers to 7/16" with a 5/16" diameter hole in the middle. It stands about 3/16" high. I have searched my factory Mercruiser engine manual and can't locate this part. I know I've seen this in prior rebuilds, just can't place it now. Any help will be much appreciated. Glad to be here, there are so many excellent Informed members. I have included pictures as well, name this piece please! LOL

Hello and welcome aboard...

You have no reference for the size of this object. Is it a few millimetres wide or a metre?

Also, in future, no need to tell us (or even showing us) the boat. We need to know what engine it has. Model, year and serial number.

Thanks,

Chris....

Almost looks to be from that grommet on the valve cover. Could have broken off but I don't know how it could have worked its way to the pan.

Good observation, it's just not nearly big enough to be that grommet. Thanks for the reply.
