Recently the oil pressure gauge started jumping all over the place. I suspected the sensor and was able to put my hands on it and I can spin the black plug about 180 degrees back and fourth really easily. I would assume that plug should not be able to spin but maybe I'm wrong. Is that a clip style plug or does it simply pull off? I can't see it very well to see if there are tabs to disconnect it. I moved the plug back and fourth a few times and pushed it in and started the boat and the gauge read like it use to for 10 minutes then began bouncing again. I assume that connector is vibrating while running and not getting a steady connection. The gauge was tested and works fine. I have manual 24 to test it but just need to know how to remove the plug first. Thank you.

I think after looking at it I was playing with the knock sensor. I think my oil pressure switch should be on top aft of the throttle body. I'll check when I get home.

I started the boat on the hose and pressure read normal at 40. then I found what I actually believe to be the oil pressure sensor by the distributor and unplugged it while running And the gauge did not change. Would the knock sensor affect the oil pressure sensor?

Ayuh,.... The knock sensor is in a Water port, the block drain,....

The oil pressure is usually down low, portside, just ahead of the oil filter boss,...
But it can also be next to the distributor,....

The 2 sensors have little in common, except the need for the block to have a good clean solid Ground connection to the battery,....

I have a sensor next to the distributor that when unplugged changed nothing in the gauge. Holding 40 psi strong. Another sensor port side aft and low that looks terrible. But I could not unplug it for fear of damaging it further. My oil filter is top port side forward.
