i have a 96 maxum 1900 with a mercruiser 4.3 and a four barrel carb. replaced the fuel pump, new starter, cap and rotor, plugs, oil and oil filter, fuel filter, and got the carb professionally rebuilt. put the carb back on and set the air/fuel screws back to normal but the boat keeps dying out at full throttle. does anyone know anything else I should be looking at with this problem.
Thanks

Try to hook it up to an 6 gallon outboard tank for a trial run. As already posted, there is a good chance either the rubber fuel is collapsing or the screen in the tank suction tube is plugged.

I've never understood the logic behind taking a carb off and taking it to somebody to rebuild it. If they aren't around to do the adjusting, you're still the one doing the important job. You "set the fuel/air screws back to normal"? If the carb had issues, probably someone had adjusted the screws to make it run better in spite of a clog or other problem. So, the position of the screws prior to the rebuild may not be what's needed now. Are the mixture screws for idle only, or do you have high speed mixture screws too?
