1994 70 Johnson intermittent stalling

My Johnson works fine, starts first time and runs great but every now and then it stalls as I go to take off. I?ll start it up again, starts first time go to take off and it stalls again. The next time I try it works fine and off I go. This doesn?t happen every time I stop but usually every 2nd or third time. Any suggestion??

Welcome to iboats!

It sounds as if you may have an issue or two to deal with.

First I would consider when the last time the carbs were completely cleaned out. There are many small passages that could just have a small piece of debris in there.

The second issue could be the synchronization of the carbs that they are not feeding the same amount of fuel at the same time....... then it just needs a minor fine tuning.

Not Happy, got my boat back after having the Carbs done and new head gasket fitted. Put it in the water and after 15min same problem!!!
