1993 430b Spark Plug Wires Discontinued

Hi

Went to the local Volvo dealer today and after quite a search, he told me the wires were discontinued from Volvo and were no longer available. He also had no aftermarket equivalent.

Does anyone have any idea where I could get a set?

Also, I've read there are different distributors for this engine (prestolite for one?) and while I was able to get a cap and rotor, just for my reference, I would like to know what kind of distributor I have (there are no points).

Does anyone know how I can determine what distributor I have?

They are still available the Volvo Penta part number is 3857168.

There is also a wire set 3857166, would you happen to know the difference between a 168 and 166 ? There is a big difference in price.

The 166 number is an old number replaced by the 168. That replacement also includes the price.
