hello all, this is my first time posting so please be patient with me. Here is the deal. boat has been running fine, i took it out last week and noticed that motor was bogging down when i went tried to put the throttle down. took off the hood and noticed the primer solinoid valve was cracked and gas was running everywhere when i tried to choke the engine. In my opinion it was flooding the engine out. put on the new valve today per manufacturers instructions (red lever is facing as it should be) now it wont start for anything. Normal starting procedure is to turn key on, hold choke for 6 seconds and start, usually no problems. I checked the plugs and they were almost black. Tomorrow i am replacing plugs and new fuel filter as the gas in it was filthy. Is there anything else i should be looking for. Do i need to use some carb cleaner on the carbs. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

If gas is leaking out the mouth of the carb, you may have a float needle problem.

The float needle will actually wear a grove in the seat and can cause the needle to get stuck. I saw this last year at the fuel dock when an OMC genine started leaking lots of gas.

Remove the float bowl from the carb and rotate the float needle so the flat side of the needle rides in a different place on the inside of the cylindrical float needle seat.
