1992 40hp

I have a 92 40hp johnson it runs great on the water hose and when i back down on the trailer. Idle to wide open throttle, but when i take it off the trailer and take off most the time it acts likes it is double firing. I did notice there is a crack in the inlet of the fuel tank but it sure acts electrical. Does anyone have a suggestion??? Thanks KYBILL

Have you checked the spark and compression? Those engines will run pretty good on 1 cylinder with no load on them. Might be a good place to start.

I have check spark with a timing light and a cylinder drop down test, did not check compression
