Here's what happened. Went out Saturday and boat was running fine. Started right up and everything. However, after running for about an hour it was not wanting to start. After starting up it would only run about 10mph at about 2000rpms. Plugs are brand new, carbs are extremely clean. I believe it could be the stator or the piston rings. I'm going to check compression to possibly rule the rings out. Could it be something simple I am overlooking? Any suggestions are appreciated.

compression is the FIRST thing to check in this situation. If compression checks out, you may have other ignition issues, which any manual can walk you through. I have just read the entire FORCE repair manual, and it says check compression before wasting time on everything else. If it is rings...you can pull the exhaust out and look to see if everything is alright.<br />If you need parts: http://www.maxrules.com has great prices on pistons
