the best way is to take it to a service center. not the one I work at :) :) . to say the lines are hard to get to is akin to saying a mountain is a mole hill. if its a line between the cyl is not quite sobad. if its a line from the cyl to the transom it can be a beast. usually do to restricted access by the hull
make careful notes for the orientation of the up and down lines for later reference.

It's not that bad rodbolt......yer scarin the guy.
All you have to do is remove the upper gear box and bellows. Then you can get to the hoses. Remove the line from the hose inside the boat and the jam nut on the fitting. Pull the hose down from the outside the boat and disconnect the hose from the cylinder. You may have to remove the pins from the cylinders in order to raise the drive (By hand) and get to the lines.
Then install the line in the reverse order and operate the cylinders to make sure you don't have any leaks.
Reinstall the bellows if it's still in like new condition, if it's over 2 years old, replace it. Make sure the word UP is up when you install the new bellows. Now the upper gear box. Be sure when you go to reinstall the upper gear box that you get the shims back in there properly, and use new orings. Fill with gear lube, put the pins back in the cylinders and new cotter pins.
That's all there is to it.
