If problem goes away for a bit when you squeeze the bulb, sounds like your fuel pump. Also could be the vacuum drive line to the fuel pump leaking, leaks in your tank to motor fuel line, or (and I've done this more times than I'd like to admit) the vent on the fuel tank is closed.

Also check for air leaks in your fuel line and all connectors. Air will cause the same symptoms.

i had thought my primer bulb was bad- so i replaced it.
it didnt cure problem, after trouble shooting everything i found it to be the female fuel line fitting.
i could actually hear air being released after pumping bulb.
one good thing is- my needle/seats are good along with all the other fuel lines.

You can replace the little o rings in the fuel connector rather than buying a new connector. The o rings provide the seal.

2K, use only a johnson /evinrude fitting. They have a revised fitting as well that is even better ,I 've heard. All the other aftermarket fittings are prone to failure. nevjb

I was having the same problem with a 2000 115 hp Johnson and it turn out to be a small o-ring in the fuel pump. Hope this help.
