Re: 1989 Bayliner Capri Cuddy
Hi There, If you would read 12Footers post "Late Discovery on my Bayliner" will give you some input on Bayliners in general. I hate to admit it, but after reading his post, I too went out and inspected some areas of my 77 Victoria. I really was saddened about my findings. It is short of being major concern, but none the less, Its gotta be fixed, which I have the know how and experience to do so. To the not so handy type person, it could be disasterous. If all the wood is in good shape, then I would say it is a good Boat. Care and Treatment is the main lifeline of any Boat. If you abuse it, It just won't last long and the end result is poor performance Then a bad name is given to the Boats manufacture due to the owners neglect for the care of the boat. My Bayliner was one of those that was neglected. Spent last 12 years on the trailer, Hatches and Ports open to the elements. Two and half months of my free time and wow, Ive got it going and enjoying it every weekend now. So I really don't care about what people say about em, All I know is that it is mine, and paid for. I enjoy it, not them. Is sorta like Fords and Chevys, they all still break down... Good Luck, Just make thorough checks of the hull before you make your decesion....
