I have a 1988 5.0L LX serial 0C394369. I have it stored out of state so I can't check to see.
Does it have ignition points?
It's hard starting when hot so replacing:
- Distributor Cap and rotor - Is Sierra good or is genuine Mercruiser cap & rotor best?
- spark plugs (AC Delco MR44T ok?) or recommendation?

What other ignition parts do you recommend? coil? condenser (if there is one)?

I might check my carb accellerator pump because I have to open the trottle a bit to get it to start when hot

Thank you for your expert advice!!!

Yeah, it doesn't misfire and runs strong so I guess I'll not replace ignition parts and re-focus on carb kit. Would you know the carb brand and model so I can buy a carb kit before I head out to boat storage (which is 1200 miles away, I now live in CO, boat is in Somerset KY). Want to have all the parts before I get there so I don't burn vacation time chasing/waiting for parts. 1988 5.0L LX serial 0C394369 (4 BBL GM carb - Rochester??)
Thank YOU for your input!

I’d be looking at the choke function.
plugs I’d use on that engine would be NGK BR6FS
