Good morning. I picked up a 1987 Ski Supreme in pretty good shape. Motor has 643 hours and was well maintained by the previous owner. As with most 30 plus year old boats, I have a few things to fix and clean her up.
I read about soaked buoyance foam. While I am not experiencing the tilt to port or starboard, I have noticed some holes that were not sealed up and I am sure there is some amount of water that has penetrated into the foam.
Before I start cutting holes in the floor, I wanted to see if anyone had a diagram of the hull or pictures of the stringers and buoyance compartments that would show me how the compartments are configured?
Plan would be to cut access holes in the floor that are just big enough to remove the wet foam, dry out the compartments, then refill with new buoyance foam. Once the foam was set, I would replace the puck that I cut out, seal it, and glass over it.
So far, the issues that I am dealing with were the issues that I expected in this boat. Thanks in advance, and look forward to my first slalom session behind the "Supreme Commander" Cheers, George
