Hi
What seal is it when the lower unit oil is leaking out the water intake area. ( where the plastic screen is). Should i rebuild the all the seals and if so is there a kit?

Will a force 1986 35hp lower unit work on my 1986 force 50hp i also have a 35hp motor. They look the same.

If it's leaking out the side then it's probably comming from under the pump housing.
But are you sure that's oil from the drive? You need to drain the oil and see if there is any water in it.Unburned gas/oil will leak down from the head.
Boats.net has parts diagrams: Mercury Force Outboard Parts 50 H.P. (1988) 507D8D GEAR HOUSING Diagram.#46 is the seal.
The 35 will work on it but the gear ratio is different.J

Re: 1986 force 50hp lower unit leaking oil problem

When i drained the lower unit it was full of water. I replaced the oil and a day later, the same new lower unit oil is seaping out of the water intake holes through the water screen and down the lower unit.

I ordered i think every seal in the lower unit.
