I recently bought a 1986 Sea Nymph Bass Attacker with a 50 hp Evinrude VRO engine. The previous owner had quit using the VRO oil tank and was just mixing the gas and oil in the tank. I don't know if he just didn't trust the system or if he'd actually had problems with it. While browsing around this forum as a new guy, I came across threads discussing a conversion of a VRO system fuel pump to a non-VRO fuel pump. Anyway my question is this--Will it hurt the engine to run it with the fuel/oil mixed in the tank without changing the pump, or is there a reason why that's not a good idea? Any advice, suggestions, opinions will certainly be appreciated. Thanks!

If the pump is working properly I don't see why you can't use it as long as the motor is happy.
