I need some help, I need as much information about replacing the floor and transom for my boat. I'm in need of any pictures and contacts for this project from those of you that have done this before. I have many questions about materials and rivets and bolts I should use. How should I start? I have replaced a fiberglass boat floor but never a transom. I am very handy an ready to start.
I am very thankful for any help. The boat is a 19ft islander with an outboard.

Start will lots of digital pictures before you start taking things apart, and the pictures store real easy on your computer for future reference.
If you did a fiberglass floor, then the aluminum will be a treat. Not near as dirty.
Drill out any rivets that need to be removed. I think Starcraft used a 3/16" aluminum rivet, so I drilled in new 1/4" rivets where needed. Worked great.
I got my rivets from Byler Rivet Supply, they were very helpful but there are other good rivet companies to chose from. Do a internet search. Example...WWW.RIVETSINSTOCK.COM
For the transom, I used 2-3/4" pieces of plywood glued and screwed together, and then covered with resin. Use your old transom board as a pattern.

First, welcome to iBoats!

Secondly, the "Boat Restoration..." forum may have more info on replacing your transom. For instance:
http://forums.iboats.com/showthread.php?t=243773

I'm currently redoing the floor ("deck" or "sole" as they like it called here) and transom. I've posted a few pictures here too: http://forums.iboats.com/showthread.php?t=212191&page=2

Your main source of info for materials will probably be the "search" function for the restoration forum.

Good luck, and I second the suggestion of taking lots of pictures.

Thanks for the info, I have much work to do. I will start soon to remove the floor. I also wanted to ask about the cuddy. The ceiling wood is bad inside the cabin. What type of wood it this? It seems to be 1/4 inch. Has anyone replace the cabin ceiling wood? Any suggestions about the floor gas tank and how I should reinstall it. The guy I bought the boat from had removed it and the center floor wood?
thanks for any info

Can anyone share photo's of there floor and transom wood replacement to
a starcraft islander with an outboard. I'm interested to view the rear transom area and how that all comes apart and how to put it back together.
