Re: 1982 b100 no pee from closed thermostat?
While the lower unit was off did you do these to check for anything that could clog the water path:
o Remove the thermostat and flush with a garden hose to clean out the water jacket and make sure the water tube was clear?
o Take off the pee fitting to see if it was clogged? If it's a chunk of impeller rubber it might be floating around inside the water jacket and occasionally clogging the telltale.
o Blow compressed air through the pee hose with thermostat back on to make sure air came out of the water pump tube?
o Blow compresssed air from the water pump down to the water inlets to check for seaweed/crud clogging the inlet side.

Also:
o Did you install the impeller with the vanes curved in the correct direction? Might have destroyed the new one if not.

o Did you install the key when doing the impeller? Shaft may be spinning without engaging the impeller.

If inlet and outlet paths are clear and nothing is wrong with the impeller installation, take apart & redo the water pump. The pump has to have a watertight seal to be able to prime. Depending on age it may be time for new gaskets.
