Greetings. In a trade, I picked up an old pontoon with a 1980 Johnson 115 V4 2 Stroke. The pontoon is a perfect candidate for simple restoration. When I took it, the motor was a bear to start, however, after replacing fuel pump, primer solenoid & hoses, and getting rid of all the quick connectors, the motor start right up - first time - every time. But It does run rough, coughs, and sneezes at idle and low rpm. It does seem to appears to clear up at higher rpms. Compression is 89 - 89 - 90 - 89. In ya'lls opinion, is the compression an issue - possible culprit or should I begin elsewhere? Any input would be welcome. Thanks See Link Below:
