I m thinking about buying a 1977 35 HP longshaft. The guy rebuilt the carb, new water pump, he said the clutch dog and gears look good. the compression is 120 or 125 he says. Im going to be putting it on my 14' glastron and pulling tubes and kneeboarding. Is this a good motor or should I keep looking?

it's a good motor, just think you will be disappointed, with HP, for water sports. 14 ft should be rated for at least a 50. i have a 50 on the 14 ft sportcraft, great for water sports.

if the motor is still on his boat, ask him for a test run.

Does your boat have a 20 in transom?I think you may be dissapointed with the hp especially if you expect more than one passenger in the boat.
