Hello All

Well a nice friend told about this web page and it looks really nice. I did have a problem when I first got this boat being I want to go crabbing and salmon fishing with my family. Now that I have the boat and take a good hard look at it It has never been in salt water. The trailer still is very shinny. Everything from motors to interior to covering is all original. Plus nothing is faded or torn or ripped. I can not bring it to my self to take a drill bit to anchor the crab pot puller and run it into the fabric. The boat is just to nice. So I bought a lake boat only . The only 2 things wrong with the boat is the gas gauge don't work and some took a saw to the fenders to the trailer to fit bigger tires. If any one has these original fenders please let me know. I also got the manuals for the whole boat plus a funny coast guard book. It is funny how times have changed!! I hope you can read what it says the whole book is like that. Here are my pics and I hope you enjoy them as this is my true first boat and hope not to mess it up!! LOL I wish I had a practice boat!! I don't want it to be " man that was a great boat till buck got it!!" LOL Thanks Buck

PS B/C I'm only allowed 5 pics I can only show you. All the snaps have no rust and are easy to use. just like it came of the show room floor But in 1976.

Thank you and yes it does look like a great site. My dad owns a Starcraft and got me hooked on looking for one. Now I want to learn as much as I can about them and stay on top of this Starcraft and never let it slip away from me and get in bad shape. Looks like you have a nice starcraft yourself. Nice looking boat!!

Here is my story that I like to post when ever I can. It's about when I was hit by a drunk driver in 2005. I know this is a boat forum but I like to share my story when ever I can. It has touched so many lives already so if your not doing much grab a cup of coffee sit back and enjoy a personal story.

That is one beautiful Starcraft American...I can't believe how great it's been maintained. I love a nice orange boat and with the Johnson outboards that match the color and the vintage is priceless.:D

Welcome to the site and good luck with the new rig:)

Glad you found us Buck. I replied to you at Yahoo urging you to not change the boat. Welcome.

Re: 1976 American Starcraft 16' Buck's first Boat!

Hello all. Thank you for all kind words about my story. It was 3 years of the most hardest times of my life. Thank you again for reading it and yes god bless.

Well today I got all my house projects done so my garage is clean and so tonight I moved the boat from my shop to my garage. Now I can start my detail work on it when I get home Sunday. Is there a cleaner/protector I should use on the interior??

BB thank you for your advise as this will be a lake boat only and will not get one scew put in it. Thank you and all that love the Starcraft.

Since I could not post the pic of the book I wanted to show you here is what one part of it says.

Keep a good lookout ahead when you're moving because you might see:

a.Another boat coming right at you
b.A pretty girl
c.A swimmer in the water
d.A pretty girl
e.A floating log
f.A pretty girl
g.A skin diver's flag
h.A pretty girl
i.A rock
j.A handsome guy (for you gals)/COLOR]

I hope you get a good laugh out of that. The whole book is filled with stuff like that. Last time I've been at the wheel was when I was 18. my dad shipped me to Alaska to work on a salmon procceror. I did so well the captin made me a helms man and I got to take a 200ft boat across the gulf of Alaska and down through the Alaska channels. I'm really looking forward to this!! I want say thank you again to all and I hope all your projects are dreams come true. Buck

Looks great! I've got two Americans in my fleet. One of the best looking and best performing hulls ever!!
