1971 125 hp evinrude

I am not use to working on this old of a motor. It has no spark i look under the flywheel it has a sensor instead of points. So does anyone know how to test this system?? I check the output of the stator and it was low but i have know idea how to test the sensor.

Thanks alot tashasdaddy that is what i was looking for with out buying a service book for one engine that i do not plan on working on alot.
