And the journey continues. I just bought another Holiday. Luckily had a friend in the area and he offered to go and look it over. She's not perfect but all there and no dents, or at least any major ones. It will be a couple of weeks before I go pick it up in Michigan.

I'm just now seeing this... There aren't words. That was a fantastic build and a beautiful boat. At least you got to see it complete in all of its glory. When I was close to finishing mine, I remember being so scared that something would happen to it, and I would never get to see what I had envisioned come to fruition.

So sorry to see this jdv; I just got the devastating news from moserkr today.

These multi-year resto-rigs are more than just boats...they catalogue everything from memories made with family and friends, forum chatter to world events. It's hard not to recall things that were going on in our crazy lives when we accomplished each little milestone.

I assume that Holly 2.0 will have many of the 1.0's body parts transplanted (Beautiful helm assembly, Engine that you overhauled, etc.?)

That is the plan. You definitely hit the nail on the head. I think it'd be hard for people to understand if they didn't go through it themselves. Looking back at the pictures and watching my kids grow up I can remember almost every day and what we were doing. It was definitely a devastating setback but I'm not going to give up. 2.0 will be back on the water by next summer, if everything goes right maybe even before the end of the season but we'll see.
