1966 Evinrude 33 hp Ski Twin water spout?

Is there a way to monitor the temp on this motor or a way to add a water spout to make sure it is pumping water? Thanks

If there is a 1/8 pipe plug somewhere on the cylinder head, attach a fitting there and route some speedometer or aquarium hose out a hole in the pan. There is an exhaust relief port on the back of the motor leg. Warm spray should come out there. It should get your hand good and wet in a few seconds. It might be distressingly warm, but not hot enough to burn.
