1962 Century Resorter Questions

Hi, I have a 1962 Century Resorter that I am getting prepped to sell. It has a Chrysler Crusader Hemi in it, It has a very loud hum when I start it that is coming from the drive unit. It does not make the noise in forward or reverse, just in neutral. If I move the shifter almost into one of the gears, the noise goes away. Thoughts? Also, how do I check the oil in the drive? Is it the large threaded plug on the left side on the top of the unit?

Hi, I think I figured it out. It is a Chrysler drive BTW. To check the oil, there is a large 1 3/8 hex plug on the left side. top, I removed it and it looks like its low on oil. I will top it up and let everyone know how I made out.

Hi, The plug is not used to check the oil, the drive is fed oil from the engine crankcase. I am wondering on the trailer it is not getting enough oil back there?
