Hi all....
I just bought a Starcraft Model " 15' Jetstream-V "
The serial number near the driver's seat is " 1008xxx " (xxx = last three numerical digits ommitted for obvious reasons)

Does anyone have any idea of this boat's date of manufacture? ( I think it's a 1972 year model )
And can someone tell me where the Hull I.D. number might be?
The boat is in beautiful condition....
Probably a 9+ on a scale of 10

The boat came with a 50 hp Johnson 50th anniversary series outboard (doesn't run yet )
If I remember right this motor is a 1972?

**note: a local marina told me that the "serial number" is in fact the hull ID number? Is this correct?

thanks in advance for any assistance.
John

***UPDATE*** June 29, 2006
Well, after merely 5 days of repair work,
I have that 50 hp Johnson purring like a kitten
( it wouldn't even try to start when I got it)
and I got all the lights back in operating order,
and even freed up the 12 volt bilge pump.
The neutral safety switch had 3 broken wires, and when I got them resoldered, the wiring harness came back to life.
Next???? a good coat of wax, and it's time to head to the lake for the first time with this beauty o:)

Re: 15' Jetstream-V

Could someone fill me in on how to delete a post?
Mods? can you delete this post?

It's a 1956 Sea King 5 hp
with forward/neutral/reverse (operates flawlessly)
and remote throttle hookup (also flawless)

Model # GG9002B
Serial # 65X636--- (last three digits ommitted)
It came with the Starcraft as a package dead.

***Update*** I sold this motor for $475 to a Sea King collector

Took her out for a walk on the water today......
What a blast !!!

handles like a dream, and cuts waves like it weighs 1,000 pounds.....

the 50 hp Johnson does a sweet job of pushing her along too.

Nice boat! If you don't mind, how much did that set you back?

About $1.85 cash ( fora shear pin for her little 5 hp Johson motor ) and the rest was trade goods... I traded the lady a 1986 S10 Blazer with blown motor, a good 2.8 liter V6 for the blazer, a set of rims and tires, and a 12 foot fiberglas fishing boat and trailer, and the Jetstream was mine......

God I love bartering :)

Great Pictures !

I got a great deal on Jetstream with a 50hp Merc at a yard sale and from your pictures it looks like it rides and runs about the same.

I just redid the floor with 1/2" treated and I am putting in some cheap walmart seats, as both were missing from my deal.

Thought I saw this one on EBAY did you sell ?

The Jetstream-V is definatly 1972 in looking at litrature in various places that's the only year they made it.

State o Michigan calls it the HULL number on Registration.

Several on Ebay right now as well if you want to see pics of others.
