I have an outboard that was purported to be a 1994 Johnson 115. Serial tag on the mounting bracket is illegible, and I don't seem to be able to locate the welch plug on top of the motor. Trying to order carburetor parts and I have a carb tag from one of the carbs. Is there any way to use that tag to id the motor? Tag is number 393774 at the top, MX in the middle and 5 C K on the bottom
Thanks,
Bill

Post a picture of the cowling.-------Most carburetor kits are the same year to year for the crossflow 115 models.

Cowling pic attached. I actually need the float chamber cover. When I first started the motor I smelled gas and shined a flashlight around and found a slight weep around that nipple. Turned out to have a hairline crack about 2/3 of the way around. Going to be an expensive plastic nipple!!
