I have moved from Gerogia to NY and I'm still trying to get used to the technique here. I have always liked the idea of trolling, but never really mastered it. I always have a problem with line twist ... even after using some expensive swivels and a rudder setup.

If I have been running with speed.... 3000 RPM to WOT and throttle down, let's say to pick up a skier... I get an idle at abt 1100 to 1200 RPMs...

I have n '86 mercury 120. The trim motor was dead this spring after two years in storage, but I found very helpful advice earlier on another thread. I pulled the moter, cleaned it up and now it is working like a champ.
Problem though is now the trim up is not working. All the other functions...
I do not have a dwell meter and have been setting my points at .020 , and timming at 0 degrees TDC. I have had some issues with the idle but it seems to run ok. Am I getting the most out of the engine... am I crazy not to find a dwell meter? or am I on the right track?
Also, the fuel fill line...
