    Oil windage tray

    I'm swapping my '88 4.3 OMC with a truck 4.3....on the truck motor, the oil pan has a windage tray....my current motor doesn't..... Any differences in the oil pans on marine motors? If the truck pan can be used, would it be beneficial to use it because of the windage tray? Thanks!

    It runs.....

    Well, after all this time my damn motor started.....it ran pretty damn good except it's knocking.....guess the water did some real damage....was hoping it had a release with the gasket blown badly..... Thanks for all your help and sorry I was such a pain in the butt :)

    Starter grinding...

    Tried to start my '88 OMC 4.3 and the starter starting grinding....it would crank a little and then start slipping....I recently pulled the starter and put it back in for another issue....could it just be misaligned or something? Even when it was turning the motor over it still didn't sound...

    Starting problem

    Preparing to start my motor after head gaskets, etc. and of course now the ignition switch won't crank it...I took a screwdriver to the solenoid and it cranked strong....turned the key on and getting power but nothing when i try to start......     Wiring problem

    I took my battery out to charge and apparently missed a fused link wire....it's white with a 25amp fuse in the line....i have a 30amp fuse going to the positive side..... Does this wire go to the negative or positive as well? It's an '88 OMC 4.3.... Thanks

    Distributor installation 4.3

    I'm still not sure my distributor is locked on the oil pump shaft....is there an easy way to confirm this? It is hard to tell but i think it could go down a very little more.... Thanks
